Chapter President's Comments
I hope all the Chapter members had a Blessed Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. This past year seemed to fly by. This will be my last comments to the newsletter as Chapter President. I have enjoyed the past two years and I would like to thank all the Executive Committee members who actually did all the work.
The Chapter December meeting was our Christmas party and it was certainly a lot of fun and the food was excellent. I would like to thank Jeff Yeager for being MC of the gift exchange event and also Bob Posley for his selection of the location and the caterer. The Congressional Super Committee was not able to come to an agreement on the budget cuts so now it goes to automatic cuts.
We are not sure what or where those cuts will be at the present time. We need to keep our representatives aware of our stand on any cuts. A recent MOAA report indicated that of the many thousands of post cards sent to congress, those postcards came from only 57,000 of the 370,000 members. We need to do better.
The Chapter’s January meeting will be held at the Catfish House. The new Officer’s will be sworn in. Come on out and enjoy some great catfish and welcome the new Officers aboard. I hope you will give them the same support that you gave me.
Thank all of You. - Howard
